HOW WE WORSHIP

WE STAND WHEN WE SING

“And the Levites…stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high.” 2 Chronicles 20:19

WE CLAP OUR HANDS

“O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.” Psalms 47:1

WE LIFT OUR HANDS

“Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.” Psalms 63:4

“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.” Psalms 134:2

“I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” 1 Timothy 2:8

WE AUDIBLE PRAISE GOD

“Oh clap your hands, all people; shout to God with a voice of joy.” Psalms 47:1

“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth and sing for joy and sing praises.”Psalms 98:4

“The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous.” Psalms 118:15

WE SING SPIRITUAL SONGS

“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and  spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:18-19

WE MOVE IN SPIRITUAL GIFTS

“The gifts are manifest as the Holy Spirit desires and the reason for them, as the Scriptures point out, is so the congregation of believers will be built up, encouraged and strengthened in faith.” 1 Corinthians 14:12

WE SING IN TONGUES AND IN ENGLISH

“For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.  What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.”  1 Corinthians 14:14-15

WE SPEAK WITH TONGUES AND INTERPRETATION OF THOSE TONGUES

“I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied; for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaks with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid notto speak with tongues.” 1 Corinthians 14:5, 39

WE (THE ENTIRE CHURCH) PRAY AT ONCE FOR SPECIFIC NEEDS

“And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is.” Acts 4:24

WE ANOINT WITH OIL AND PRAY FOR THE SICK AND SUFFERING

“Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” James 5:14-15

“…I am the Lord your healer.”  Exodus 15:26

WE WORSHIP WITH TITHES AND OFFERINGS

“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10

WE WAVE FLAGS AND BANNERS

“We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners:” Psalms 20:5

“Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain,”…  Isaiah 13:2

Banners and flags were used in celebrations and also for an indicated rallying point.

PEOPLE OFTEN “FALL DOWN” WHEN THEY ARE IN PRAYER OR BEING PRAYED FOR

At times, the presence of the Lord is so overwhelming, people cannot stand on their feet.

“As soon then as He had said unto them, I am He, they went backward, and fell to the ground.” John 18:6

“Suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:  and he fell to the earth.”  Acts 9:3-4

“So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud:  for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.” 2 Chronicles 5:14
